616 Elizabeth Street
Melbourne

An Irish pub/restaurant that serves up the traditional dishes, with a twist. The place is set up quite comfortably with a lot of space, but it does have that pub smell. Their bread and butter is worth coming for but as for the other dishes, not so much.

Complementary Bread and Butter

Perhaps the best I’ve ever had. Definitely worth trying. 9/10

Special entrée of the Day $15
Oyster in Seaweed Jelly accompanied by a salad of Kale, Beans and Seafood bits.

The oyster is actually sitting in a jelly that tastes like seaweed. Weird, but not awful. Salad part is refreshing, but not very satisfying. Points for creativity. 6.5/10

Beer Battered Fish & Chips, Tartare Sauce, Mushy Peas $20

Fish itself was good, but there was just an excessive amount of batter. The chips were too chunky and not crunchy enough. Not enough mushy peas. 6/10

House Smoked Ocean Trout, Salad of Fennel Sorrel, Pickled Mussels, Peas, Broad beans & Yoghurt $35

Trout was nice and fresh with a great crispy skin. Other aspects of the dish was average. Not worth the price tag. 7/10
