White Village Greek Tavern

582 Glen Huntly Road
Elsternwick

A very rustic and homey Greek restaurant that provides live music on Wednesdays as you enjoy your meal. Food is decent, but nothing too extraordinary. Wouldn’t come back after trying it once.

Dips – Tzatsiki, Eggplant, Taramasalata (full serve) $14.50

Homemade dips that had great flavour and perfect for dipping. 7.5/10

Dolmades (2 pieces) $4

Rice filled dolmades. A bit too salty for my likes. 3/10

Bread

Freshly baked warm bread that had a nice and crispy crust.

 Saganaki (full serve)

Just salty fried cheese. Don’t really have much of an opinion on this one. 5/10

Salad $10.50

Dressing was a bit too salty, but salad itself was very refreshing. 6/10

Pan Fried Calamari $26.50

Cooked well. Calamari was soft and tender with good flavour. 7.5/10

Mixed Meat Platter for 2 $49.50

Chicken was the best. Flavoursome and juicy. The beef patties were surprisingly soft and fell apart. Lamb was not that great. 7.5/10

Homemade Baklava, Turkish Delight & Halva (3 serves) $9

Baklava was super sweet – great for having with the super bitter coffee. Turkish delight was sickly sweet. Halva was pleasant but very dry. 5/10

Greek Coffee (2 cups) $6

Powdery and bitter. The way usual greek coffee is. Not a fan. 4/10
