Escort and Thief dined courtesy of Vapino
Vapiano is a hidden eatery that you can access through either Flinders Lane or Collins Street. This massive Italian restaurant spans over 2 floors with a simple yet thoughtful décor and casual atmosphere.
Loved the little pots of fresh basil on every table! Service is attentive and food was great. They also hand make all their own pasta which is delicious. Would recommend if in the area.
Although it was called a martini, it definitely didn’t look like it. It was creamy, sweet and super strong. 6/10
Bread was nice and soft (which I prefer) rather than the usual hard crunchy type. Bread was overflowing with the generous mozzarella, which was super fresh and creamy. Great with a bit of vinegar. 7.5/10
Creamy and rich with delicious crunchy bites of crusty bread. A hearty dish that’s perfect for winter. 8/10
Loved the homemade pasta! It was cooked perfectly al dente with just the right amount of chewiness. The puttanesca sauce was the usual tomato base with olives and anchovies, which was average. Would probably try a different flavour of pasta next time! 7.5/10
Probably one of the favourites of the night. Served piping hot with a thin and crispy base. The beef was delicious with a great spicy kick. Tasted even better with a squeeze of lemon. 8.5/10
Another thin and crispy style pizza for dessert. Just the right amount of sweetness and chocolate. 7.5/10
