The Escort and Thief dined courtesy of Shinbashi Yakiniku
Shimbashi Yakiniku is a Japanese eatery located in busy Lygon Street serving up an assortment of Japanese eats. They cater for table top BBQ as well as orders a la carte.
We attended for a banquet night of a mix of both and everything was delicious.
My favourites were the sashimi, wagyu harami, butter cheese sweet potato and the jumbo prawns, but everything is worth trying out!
Decent edamame with good seasoning. 7/10
Single servings you have to mix up yourself. The udon itself had a great chewy texture. Refreshing and lightly flavoured. 7/10
Super fresh and generous portions. The salmon was especially good. 9/10
Grilled meats: Ox tongue diced, Wagyu Oyster Blade, Wagyu Short Rib, Wagyu Harami, Pork Belly
All great meats, but the Wagyu Harami was the favourite. Tasted great even on their own, but also have the option of dipping sauces. 8.5/10
One of the favourites of the night! Creamy, sweet and savoury all at once. Never had such flavour before and would definitely recommend trying out!
Massive prawns!! Had a nice natural sweetness to it and the prawn heads had so much flavour! 8.5/10
